Black Belt Grading Feedback & Results

Grading for your Black Belt is a major achievement, and we are committed to helping you grow even further. After your grading, you’ll have the opportunity to receive detailed feedback from the lead examiner(s)—a valuable tool to assess your strengths and identify areas for improvement.

Our feedback system is designed to give you a clear understanding of your progress, using both qualitative insights and numerical scoring across 7 key categories:

Instructing Ability

Technical Ability

Defensive & Two-Step Partner Work

Kata Forms

Shadow & Contact Sparring

Physical Fitness

Conduct

To pass, earn a merit, or achieve distinction, you must meet the required percentage for your belt level. If a category falls below standard, a compensable or fail mark may be assigned, offering clear guidance on areas needing improvement.

Results & Certification

On successful completion, your final mark is produced once all gradings have finished and sent by email within 14 days. Certificates are printed externally and available within 10 working days of your practical assessment. If embroidery is required for a name and dan line/s, please allow up to 15 working days.
