Why do I need to be affiliated with the club?

All participants practicing martial arts are required to obtain their annual affiliation directly through the club.

Your first year's affiliation fee's cover your club licence book & grading record, the clubs practicing syllabus and your first years public liability insurance (also known as participants insurance). Your first years affiliation fee's is a one off payment and is ordinarily collected within the first 4-6 weeks of training commencing and from/around the 28th of the month.

Every members affiliation fee's are renewed annually for the following year ahead and covers your public liability insurance (also known as participants insurance). Your affiliation fee's renewal is an annual payment collected every 12 months after your first year's affiliation fee on/around the 28th of the month.

Club Licence & Grading Record

When you have paid your first years affiliation fee's you will receive your own hard back club licence & grading record. This is your martial arts licence with the Elemental Kickboxing Leeds and allows you full entry to the club, tournaments, gradings and martial arts based and none-martial arts based courses.

The club hosts a variety of classes, they all concentrate on freestyle karate and kickboxing. Some classes may focus on technical drills and fitness, strength and conditioning, pads and bag drills, and various forms of sparring such as points fighting and light continuous sparring. Your valid club and recognised club licence allows to attend and participate in all forms of martial arts training with no restrictions within our facility.

If you wish to compete outside of the club you will be required to show proof you are a member of a practicing martial arts club with your licence book and grading record.

If you would like to grade you will be required to show proof you are a member of a practicing martial arts club with a licence book and grading record. When grading with the club internally you will be required to bring your licence book and grading record so it can be signed on completion and provide you with future evidence of your current martial arts grade and examiner.

If you attend additional martial arts based (such as focused seminars) and non-martial arts based courses (such as first aid) these can be recorded in your licence book and grading record. Although not compulsory, this is useful when attending other clubs, participating in additional coaching and practicing as a registered coach in the future - providing a clear record of experience.

Syllabus

When you have paid your first year's affiliation fee's you will receive the most recent club syllabus. This covers all requirements when grading from white to 1st dan black belt and a useful tool for any martial arts enthusiast.

Public Liability Insurance (participants insurance)

The Elemental Kickboxing Academy will always put safety first. We make every effort to keep our members safe from general risk assessments, young person risk assessments, covid risk assessments, safeguarding policies, instructor DBS checks and insurance.

Every member is required to obtain their first year's affiliation fee's to cover their member to member participants insurance. Practicing martial arts and contact sports comes with risk, and although we make every effort to keep members safe accidents do occur. Our approach is, if every member has valid insurance within the club it will offer an additional layer of protection should an accident occur resulting in damage to another member and require hospital treatment and/or loss of earnings etc as a result of negligence.

In addition, Elemental Fitness Ltd (the registered company name of the Elemental Kickboxing Leeds) ensures all practicing instructors obtain their own public liability insurance in the event of an injury occurring as a result of the leading instructor's negligence. And Elemental Fitness Ltd obtains it's on public liability insurance, professional indemnity insurance and employer liability insurance.

Renewals

Your annual affiliation fees renewal is collected 12 months after your first year's affiliation fee is paid on the 28th of the month and every year thereafter. The renewal fee is usually cheaper than your first year's affiliation fee's as you already obtain the physical form of the club licence & grading record, and club syllabus. The annual renewal covers your continued club licence and public liability insurance (participants insurance) with the Elemental Kickboxing Academy Leeds.
