Why Wearing Your EKA Kit Matters

A Reminder About Wearing EKA Kit to Classes
We wanted to take a moment to remind everyone about one of our core expectations at Elemental Kickboxing Leeds: the importance of wearing your EKA kit and belt to every class.
We know how proud many of you are to represent the club, and we love seeing our members train in their club kit—it promotes a sense of unity, discipline, and professionalism within the team. However, it’s worth explaining why this expectation is in place for all members, of all ages and experience levels.
At Elemental Kickboxing Leeds, we aim to create a training environment that is not only enjoyable but also safe, focused and inclusive. Wearing the correct kit helps us achieve that in the following ways:
Why Kit & Belt Matter
Wearing the EKA kit and belt supports group identity and team spirit. Training in uniform helps everyone feel part of the team. It encourages mutual respect, discipline, and pride in being a member of the club. Your belt reflects your progress and achievements, and helps coaches understand what level you are at and what your should be aiming towards - making your training sessions contributing to a more productive training session.
Kit ensures safety and practicality. Our club kit is designed to be suitable for the activities we do. It allows free movement, reduces the risk of injury, and in some cases may assist instructors when assessing your stance and technique to support your development.
It supports fair expectations for everyone. Just like in other sports and clubs, wearing kit and belt ensures that all members are held to the same standard. It removes confusion and helps prevent situations where individuals may feel out of place or less involved.
Embracing Individuality Within Club Standards
We understand that some members may choose to purchase alternative attire due to individual fitting needs. While we encourage individuality and comfort, we kindly ask that all alternative kit items remain in keeping with the club’s colours and style— these are black and yellow, if our existing range and availability of garments do not fit your requirements, to maintain a unified and professional appearance across the team.
New EKA Kit Coming Soon!
In addition we’re excited to let you know that a brand-new EKA kit will be launching within the next month or two! This will be available to all members and will bring a fresh new look to the club.
That said, we want to reassure you that our current kit will continue to be recognised as official club kit. There is no requirement to replace your kit immediately—members are welcome to continue wearing the existing design until they feel ready for an upgrade.
More details about the new kit range and how to purchase will be shared soon.
We understand that occasionally, items may be forgotten or misplaced. In such cases, please speak to an instructor before the class begins. However, we do ask that all members aim to wear full EKA kit and belt to every class as part of their regular routine.
Thank you for your continued commitment and support—we’re proud to have such a strong and motivated community at Elemental Kickboxing Leeds.
