Top Tips for Staying on Track: Plan, Book, and Smash Your Kickboxing Goals!

Whether you're new to Elemental Kickboxing Leeds or a long-time member, one of the biggest game-changers for your training is organisation. Life gets busy – work, school runs, family, social plans – and if your training sessions aren’t planned in, they can easily slip through the cracks. Here’s how to keep kickboxing a consistent, rewarding part of your routine.

1. Set Clear Goals

Ask yourself: what do you want to get out of training?

Improve fitness?

Work towards your next belt?

Learn to spar?

Increase confidence or reduce stress?

Whatever your reason, having a clear goal helps you stay motivated and consistent.

2. Create a Monthly Schedule

Consistency beats intensity every time.
We recommend you aim for at least 2 sessions per week to see real progress. Sit down at the start of the week or month and schedule your training into your diary just like you would a work meeting or school run. You’re more likely to stick to it if it’s written down!

4. Mix It Up – But Stay Committed

We offer a variety of sessions:

Kids classes (ages 6+)

Beginner-friendly sessions

Intermediate and advanced training

One-to-one coaching

Ladies-only courses

Squad training (by invitation)

Find what works for your goals and ability – but stick to a routine. Jumping between classes is fine, but try not to drop in and out too much. Progress happens with consistency!

5. Prepare Mentally and Physically

Plan to arrive 10–15 minutes early, especially if you're new. Use this time to stretch, hydrate, or have a quick chat with one of our instructors about your goals.

Consistency also includes things like:

Getting enough sleep the night before training

Bringing the right kit (water bottle, gloves, belt, etc.)

Eating sensibly before sessions

6. Train with a Buddy

If you’ve got a friend, partner, or family member thinking of giving it a go – get them to join you! Training with someone you know makes you more accountable and turns the session into something social as well as physical.
