Newsletter: April 2023

Greetings, everyone! We are currently amidst the Easter Holidays, and we hope you are all enjoying the milder weather now that Spring is in full swing. It's great to see such high attendance in our classes (perhaps everyone is working off those chocolate eggs?). Our second fight club of the year was a huge success, showing that Saturdays are one of the best days to train.

As you may have noticed, renovations are still ongoing at a steady pace. We're making progress, albeit slowly, but our excitement for the finished product is hard to contain. We appreciate your patience during this process and can't wait to share the results with you.

Kickboxing Classes

Fight Club:

We had one of the best turnouts to a fight club ever…yes, technically we have only had two since pre-covid, but still, it was good!

We some great feedback on how the class was split with everyone matched accordingly with weight class we do hope those that attended continue to and build on the experience.

We have some footage captured which will be plastered all over our social media pages so make sure to check them out.

Moving on, we hope to have another fight club set up for the back end of April once we get past the easter holidays and everyone has had a moment to catch their breath.

Tuesday 19:30 Class:

Results in from the vote to decide on the Tuesday 19:30 class. for those that were not part of the class we had some interested in changing back to a technique-based class. as we do listen to you guys and want to make the club accessible for everyone, we wanted to make sure with a vote on those that have attended the class.

See results below.

- Adults’ kickboxing under 1 years’ experience class (technique) 13.79% in favour

- Adults’ kickboxing under 1 years’ experience (sparring) 27.5% in favour

- Maintain a neutral stance 58.8%

Therefore, the class will need to stay with the majority and continue as ‘Adults kickboxing under 1 years’ experience (sparring)’ on this occasion. We appreciate this might be disappointing to some members, but we hope you can understand this was the fairest way to some to a conclusion.

EKA Challenge:

March’s challenge was difficult on your cardiovascular endurance, and you let us know about it. Ryan did for, a brief, moment consider something a little less tasking, the operative word there being brief. Sticking with the themed challenges and Easter being only 9 days away, you will be tasked to become a bunny with as many hops across the mats as possible within 1-minute.

March winners are Leon, Fillip, Nikita and Eduard – well done guys!

Member Mention:

We're thrilled to announce that Paul Glossop is this month's spotlight member (although it should have been last month - due to an unfortunate clerical error). In February, Paul took part in the Run 56 Challenge for Cancer Research UK, which involved running 2 miles every day. This wasn't in place of his normal exercise routine, mind you - it was an additional challenge. Paul even ran to Elemental Fitness, trained on the bags for an hour, and ran back home as part of his daily routine.

Throughout the entire month, Paul did an outstanding job raising funds, smashing his target of £200 within just a few days and reaching an impressive total of £2040.05! If you'd like to learn more about his journey, take a quick look at his blog, which details his experience.

We're truly proud of Paul's dedication and commitment to such a worthy cause, and we're honoured to have him as a member of our community. Please join us in congratulating him on his incredible achievement!

Elemental Kickboxing Academy Day/Night Out

The official date for the club day and night events will be June 10th. For the day/kid’s event (adults are welcome too) we are back at Jump Inc. because why not! We have a handy link for you to purchase a ticket to join on to the event:

https://elementalfitnessltd.mypthub.net/3/p/185828

As for the night/adults (sorry little ones, might have to wait a few years before your allowed on this one) where we plan to meet is yet to be confirmed, so keep eyes peeled for this information in up-and-coming newsletters. Once we have decided the meeting place who knows where the night will take us. Last grown-up night out had one of the instructors not getting in until the early hours (not hard to deduce who that was) so be prepared to have a fun filled evening.

Gradings
