Introducing EKA Combat Academy – A New Era of Training at Elemental Kickboxing Leeds

We’re excited to announce a major update to our training structure at Elemental Kickboxing Leeds. Starting December 2025, we’re bringing together two of our most popular advanced sessions—EKA Squad Training and EKA Fight Club—to form one powerful, streamlined class:

EKA Combat Academy

This new combined session will take place every fortnight on:

Thursdays at 7:30 pm,

starting Thursday 4th December 2025
(after the Adults 1+ Year Experience class)

Why the Change?

After speaking with members across the club, we’ve seen a clear need for greater consistency and a time that works for more people. By merging these two sessions into one slot, we’re aiming to:

Boost attendance

Improve training quality

Support both club-level fighters and competition-ready athletes

Provide a more unified development path for our members

This new structure ensures everyone—whether preparing for gradings or competing nationally—gets the focused coaching they need.

What to Expect in EKA Combat Academy

EKA Combat Academy will blend the best elements of both EKA Squad and EKA Fight Club, making it ideal for:

Light continuous fighters training for club sessions and gradings

Light continuous competitors preparing for tournaments across the UK

The content will remain intense, technical, and geared towards personal improvement, with drills, sparring, fitness, and strategic development included throughout.

To support this transition, we’re updating the club website, session material, and training rules. All content will be combined into a single, easy-to-follow guidance file so every member knows exactly what to expect from the Combat Academy.

Where Does This Leave James?

Don’t worry—James isn’t going anywhere!

While he continues to lead the Saturday 11:15 am Adults Class and Tuesday 4:30 pm Children’s Class, we’re already developing new ways for him to contribute to the Combat Academy. This may include:

Occasional attendance at EKA Combat Academy

Special focus groups outside the regular timetable

Additional coaching opportunities to support our fighters

James remains a key figure in Team EKA, and we’re excited to keep him involved in fresh, dynamic ways.
